Diving deep into embodiment, somatics, and yoga therapy—especially the gentler forms of mindful movement—taught me how to feel my way through chronic pain and meet my nervous system with compassion instead of fear.
Before this work, I used to fight my body.
Ignore the flare-ups. Power through the panic.
Push past the fatigue and override the signals.
Now, I see those signals differently.
They’re not problems—they’re messages.
They’re my body’s way of protecting me.
Even when that protection looks like chest tightness, buzzing limbs, or the ache of exhaustion.
Somatics has taught me how to listen.
To sit with discomfort without needing to fix it.
To move gently and with intention—whether that’s slow stretching, a mindful walk, or simply deep breaths in a quiet corner.
