Yin Yoga
"Our goal in life is not to become perfect: our goal is to become whole"
“Yin gives you time”
Paul Grilley, founder of Yin Yoga
We all have Yin and Yang elements within ourselves, and in the world around us.
When we bring balance to both, we might find a sense of ease...
Bringing balance to both elements, in our body and mind means balancing movement (which is part of our overall wellbeing) and stillness.
Knowing how to stay (and enjoy) the quiet...
So many things are revealed to us in the quiet.
This is when our brain processes, and things start making connection
Yin Yoga is the practice of slowing down.
to tune in and dive deep
to meditate
to feel
It is a great practice if:
You already have a physical activity (sports, a yang style of Yoga which means movement)
You feel drained and exhausted
Yin yoga postures gently stretch and rehabilitate the connective tissues that form our joints.
We remain in the postures 1-3 minutes (or more)
In Yin you have time
To stay with your breath
To stay with your thoughts
To stay present

In Yin Yoga we rest in the poses between 3-5 minutes, using as many props as possible to stay comfortable.
It is a perfect practice to do anytime you feel drained, after practicing any physical activity, or simply if you want to relax.
